About Us

The United Muslim Association of Hong Kong (UMAH; Chinese: 香港穆斯林聯會) is a registered charity and community organization in Hong Kong established to provide religious, educational, and social services for people of all faiths. While UMAH was founded to primarily serve the Muslim community, the organization’s mission has expanded to include outreach and programming for the broader Hong Kong population.

History of UMAH

Due to a massive territory-wide redevelopment, second generation of early Muslims initially compacted in just a few places such as Central, Wan Chai and T.S.T., started moving to different districts all around Hong Kong in order to capitalize the economic opportunities. Visionary approach and great efforts of Muslim thinkers in 80s had discovered a need to set up an organization that could cater for the multidimensional needs of the Muslim community all across the territory.
